As Executive Vice President, Jamas Gwilliam helps lead portfolio business-plan execution, including new investments, capital recycling, asset management, development and redevelopment, anchor leasing, and land strategy. He also supports the firm’s capital relationships and continued organizational growth.
Prior to joining Capstone, Gwilliam served as Managing Director and Partner at Merlone Geier Partners, where he led value-creation initiatives across the firm’s portfolio. His work included major mixed-use redevelopments, retail repositioning, residential entitlements, leasing strategy, and complex development projects throughout the western United States. Earlier in his career, he held senior development and investment roles at Kilroy Realty and other real estate organizations.
Gwilliam has more than 20 years of institutional commercial real estate experience spanning development, redevelopment, leasing, acquisitions, asset management, dispositions, and joint ventures. He has been involved in transactions representing approximately $7 billion in value across retail, mixed-use, office, multifamily, and residential land investments. He remains actively involved in the commercial real estate industry through ULI, CREDA (formerly NAIOP), and ICSC.
