As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Schwartz oversees Capstone’s commercial real estate activities including management of the firm’s operating nationwide real estate portfolio, its development program and acquisition of new commercial assets. During Mr. Schwartz’ 25+ year real estate career, he has acted as the primary owner’s representative for more than 10 million square feet of retail, office and industrial properties throughout the United States. He has developed, redeveloped and maximized the value of a variety of retail office and industrial properties, positioning assets for both long-term holds and for immediate disposition.
Mr. Schwartz started his real estate career in 1983 with The Hahn Company where he was involved with the management and development of a nationwide regional mall portfolio totaling more than 30 million square feet. He later spent more than eight years with Burnham Pacific Properties and John Burnham and Company (now Cushman & Wakefield) acquiring, operating and redeveloping commercial real estate in Southern California.
Mr. Schwartz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University and a Master of Business Administration from United States International University. He is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).
